A THIN YELLOW LINE
The whole world
Seemed calm, quiet and dark
Except for the sound of the aircraft
As I woke up suddenly
I could not feel any movement
Of the gigantic plane
Which was flying in severe speed
For me
It was just standing still
Over some thousand feet
Just like my heart
Unmoved and silent
I looked down through the window
The pages of World Atlas
Unfolding before me
One after another
A thin yellow line separating sky from the ocean
As it was about to sunrise
And my watch still indicating
Indian midnight
Closing my eyes
I could see my son
Sleeping like an angel in Pappa’s arm
Is he still crying in sleep remembering me
My stubborn sweetheart
Is he still insisting
to have food only by Mumma
I wonder!
I looked at the thin yellow line
Separating sky from the ocean
Separating a World from the another
Growing longer and longer
With every passing moment
Taking me away
From my heart’s desires
where my life belongs!
