BE PARENTS, IT WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON

Parental anxiety starts almost just before or after the birth of the first child of any couple. The main question that creeps up is, 'will we be able to be better parents?' This leads to numerous other questions with no definite answer. There are a countless kinds of apprehension with a newcomer who is soon going to be a part of the family of two. Some thrill and a lot of worry.

The day baby comes to your life, it lifts you up the ladder of life. Suddenly, you are no more a careless youth. You can’t just lead a bindas and bohemian life anymore, even if you want to. Because, you are no more living only for you. There’s another life, a tiny life who is dependent upon you completely. No theory or counseling can make a person more responsible.

You actually learn the meaning of the word sharing with the coming of your new guest in your life. You are more than eager to share all the joy, comfort, privacy, attachment, trust, love………………..whatever you had between the two of you with your baby. You want your baby to be a part of your all treasured possessions.

You start to see life a fresh through the eyes of a baby. People say there are no seven wonders for a baby, there are seven millions. The baby shows you all these seven millions. He teaches you the importance of moments, how the whole life is nothing but a collection of some moments, that the only way to enjoy life is to enjoy its every moment, live its every moment. You realize the happy feelings that a small incident brings to life, which was almost forgotten in the monotonous life circle. Life opens a new window for you where everything is new, be it a small bird, or a butterfly, or just an insignificant sound.

You understand the meaning of selfless love. The joy of giving selflessly without expecting a single return. The joy of unconditional love. The feelings that how someone else's happiness makes you more happy. The feeling that how someone else's suffering brings you more pain. (You may not think of your baby as "someone else" at that moment, but sooner or later he will definitely grow into a person different from you). And mostly, you'll realize and appreciate the countless sacrifices your mother must have made to make you the person you are today from an infant. You can feel all the troubles she might have taken just for you, all over again. As well said by the Chinese proverb, “To understand your parents' love you must raise children yourself.”

The same happened with us too. And my personal experience is, everyone should be parents. It makes one a better person.
